Eco-developments
The Government's priority is to support communities in their wish to adopt higher standards of sustainability (which may be through eco-towns) and ensure that localism is a real feature of future schemes. We won't impose schemes or any solutions on local communities. All schemes will be subject to local planning decisions, led by the local authority and involving the local community.
There are currently 15 local authorities and partnerships leading eco-development projects, and a number of these are working together through the Eco-development Group (external link).
