Summary

The Office of the Third Sector has developed a government-wide Social Enterprise Action Plan, which puts forward a four-point framework for setting out the areas in which government department's can support the type of social enterprises key to their respective policy concerns. These are:

  • improve the business advice, information and support
  • tackle the barriers to access to finance
  • enable social enterprises to work effectively with government
  • foster a culture of social enterprise.

This document uses this framework to set out Communities and Local Government's commitments and direction of travel to support the community enterprise sector.
