Summary

The DCLG Business Plan was published on 13 May 2011 as part of a coordinated relaunch of departmental business plans by Oliver Letwin, Minister of State at the Cabinet Office.

The republished Plan contains the changes we have adopted following the consultation on the indicators and information strategy. It also contains an updated Structural Reform Plan showing what actions have been complete to bring it into line with the latest information on the No 10 database; and includes new actions to reflect new policies including the Growth Review and the Social Mobility White Paper.

Technical details of DCLG's input and impact indicators are available in the measurement annex, which is available below, as an Excel spreadsheet.

The list of key datasets used by the Department has also been updated below as an Excel spreadsheet. This is not the same as the published single list, which is a list of the data required from local authorities by all central government departments, published by DCLG on 14 April.

A summary of the responses to consultation is also published below.

Update: On 18 July the Department published an updated Indicator measurement annex that replaces the one published in May. The changes that have been made do not reflect changes of substance in any of the Department's input or impact indicators. They are, instead, changes that have been made to provide more transparent information on the technical details of each indicator - eg by including additional web links and some additional England averages in the worked examples.
