Summary
The aim of this research was not only to provide an insight into the experiences of Fire and Rescue Authorities (FRAs) and their work with local partners (including local authorities, health services and the police), but to understand the key success factors for local partnership working across the range of FRAs (size and organisational structure), the wider role FRAs have played in their communities, and, critically, to share learning and understanding to support FRAs in their future work; specifically, the role the FRA could play on the Local Strategic Partnership, and its involvement in future rounds of Local Area Agreement negotiations.
The findings and recommendations in this report are those of the consultant authors and do not necessarily represent the views or proposed policies of the Department for Communities and Local Government.
