Summary

Note: The Home Information Pack duties are suspended with immediate effect from 21 May 2010. This means that homes marketed for sale on or after this date will no longer require a Home Information Pack. However, Energy Performance Certificates are still required.

This briefing note sets out three key changes to Home Information Packs effective from 6 April 2009. The changes have important implications for industry practice in the marketing of residential properties for sale and the advice given to clients. This note should be read by anyone involved in buying or selling homes in England or Wales.
